"At the time it was easier to get in to contracting than it was to get a permanent role so when the opportunity of a contract position became available. I took it. My only initial concerns with contracting were from a security point of view of continuing to get work, however I’ve found I’ve benefited more through contracting than I would have realized. A lot of IT departments which re-modeled their structures need more resources seeking contractors to make up the short fall, which has benefited me as I haven’t been without a contract role since I began.
