PAYE

Almost everyone in the UK is affected by PAYE (Pay As You Earn) at some point in their lives. It is easily the most common and well known of all the Taxes and affects everyone in employment regardless of whether they are a permanent employee, a temporary worker, freelancer or contractor.

Self Assessment

Like PAYE, Self Assessment is fairly common place and even spawned the somewhat unbelievable catch phrase “Tax doesn’t have to be taxing” but unlike PAYE its reach is less extensive and only effects a percentage of the UK population, however most of those it does affect are either self employed, freelancers or contactors.

National Insurance

We’ve all heard of National Insurance, it pays for our Hospitals and Pensions, but do you really know how it effects you as a freelancer? And what happens to the National Insurance you pay?
