Employment Agencies Act
The EEA regulation or, to give it its full title - 'Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations' 2003 and 2007 - is probably a regulation that an agency could teach JSA a thing or two about.
Here are the main points:
- The regulation was set out to achieve the safeguarding of the work seeker, the hirer and the needs of the recruitment industry.
- Applying restriction to charging transfer fees.
- Restriction contractual and procedural requirements, including the requirement to agree the terms of business with the client and candidate prior to dealing.
The regulation is undergoing continual changes and reviews by the department of BIS (formerly DTI and then BERR) to ensure the above point is maintained, so for full and up to date information on the Employment Agencies Act please see the BIS website.
