Taxation for Overseas Contractors

Are you moving to the UK for work? The UK has an array of job opportunities for overseas candidates looking for work. But it can be a scary decision to move to a foreign country, so here at JSA we have always given our non UK nationals the extra support they need.

One of the most important things to our current candidates once they got to the UK was getting paid as quickly as possible. So with JSA you able to set up onto any of our service the very same day you enquire. On top of that as a Non UK National you can take advantage of JSA’s non domicile expense policy, which you can claim on for up to 5 years.

Non Domicile Expense Policy

Non domicile expenses do follow all the same rules and guidelines as the standard expense policy. However, the biggest difference being that candidate from the UK normal work directly from their own home where you can’t. Therefore, most non domicile contractor can claim for not only their travel but their accommodation too.

Allowable Expenses:

  • Rental Accommodation / Hotel costs
  • Utility bills (except Water)
  • Subsistence claims (breakfast, lunch and Dinner)
  • Travel cost (flights including spouse – condition apply)
  • Travel cost (to and from your client worksite)

On top of this you will be able to claim all the expense a normal UK contractor can claim for.

Visas

All candidates without a British passport will need to check their eligibility to live and work in the UK. Citizens from anywhere in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland are eligible to live in the UK without prior permission, however, not all EEA citizens automatically have the right to work here and will need to register with the UK Border Agency.

Citizens from all other countries need to apply for a visa to work in the UK.

The main visas are:

  • Tier 1 - General – Highly Skilled
  • Tier 1 - Post Study Worker
  • Tier 1 - Investor Visa
  • Tier 1 - Entrepreneur Visa
  • Tier 2 - Skilled Group
