In the Pre Budget Report today (December 6), the Chancellor, Gordon Brown, announced that he was "addressing avoidance and the rules governing managed service companies." He announced that he is carrying out a review and has issued a consultation document - "Tackling Managed Service Companies" and draft legislation.
The results of this consultation will be reviewed in March 2007, and it is Mr Brown's intention that the new legislation will come into effect after next April's Budget.
JSA intends to take an active part in the consultation process. We are currently reviewing today's announcements and documentation and will send a full report and opinion to all our contractors and agency contacts as soon as possible.
However, there is no need for any contractor, currently using one of JSA's services, to take any immediate action. Remember, at this stage there is no change to existing legislation and therefore all JSA's current solutions remain fully compliant. Please remember that the documentation issued today is in draft format and may change before finalisation next Spring. Whatever happens, all our clients can rest assured that JSA will ensure that all its’ clients can rest assured that JSA will ensure that all its tax solutions will be fully compliant with any new legislation that may be finally introduced.
