Your personal 2008 Tax Return is designed to record all of your income and outgoings for the year ended 5 April 2008. This covers all income (salary, pension, dividends, capital gains, rental income and so on) received between 6th April 2007 and 5th April 2008.
To enable JSA to carry out the calculation for you please complete the tax return questionnaire below. The Tax Return questionnaire must be completed as fully as possible. Some questions ask you to confirm information, such as company dividends, which may already be held by JSA. Please ensure that you enter this information into the document, as it is important that we receive full details of all the entries that need to be made. If there is any additional information that you believe may affect your return, please provide it in as much detail as possible.
The last date for filing your 2008 Tax Return with H M Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is 31 January 2009, failing which an automatic penalty of £100 will be issued. Interest will also be charged on any late paid tax liabilities.
JSA need the returned questionnaire as soon as possible and preferably, before 31 July 2008. This will allow us to complete and submit the Tax Return before 31 October 2008. Submitting your return by this date enables HMRC to calculate any additional tax due on 31 January 2009 prior to that date. This amount will be based on the information detailed in your Tax Return.
To maintain an equitable arrangement for clients questionnaires will be processed in the order in which they are received.
Your personal Tax Return is not included within your general JSA fees. The fee for JSA to assist you in the preparation of your 2008 Tax Return is only £125 + VAT. Please note that additional charges may be incurred if your Return is complex or where there is more than one significant source of income. If this is the case, you will be advised accordingly before any work is undertaken.
